Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman, an Olympic gold medalist in gymnastics was the one who took the U.S. to victory in both the years 2012 and 2016. Aly has won six Olympic medals, as well as two World Championships gold medals. She is a native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's passion for sports is traced to the "mommy and me" gymnastics class she took as an eighteen-month-old. Aly Raisman is a proponent of body positivity and a leader both on the floor and off, and she spoke about Larry Nassar during his sentencing hearing. Aly Raisman was born in 1994 and began gymnastics career very early in her age. She played a role in helping the U.S. Gymnastics Team win the 2011 World Championships. In the following year, she won two gold medals -- one in the team competition, and the second in the competition for the solo floor exercises--alongside a bronze for the beam during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Raisman was awarded silver medals in both the floor and individual finals of the 2016 Olympics at Rio. Also, she took home a gold medal in the competition for team gymnastics. In 2017, Raisman revealed she had been abused sexually at the by team doctor Larry Nassar, and the next year, she filed a lawsuit against USA Gymnastics and the U.S. Olympic Committee.
